Over 50 Hamilton students participated in the second annual JIL Individuals Competition. Each student started with $100,000, and invested over the span of 5 months. Strategies varied among all the investors--some traded frequently and some invested for long-term profits. The winner of the competition, Michael St. Onge, gained a whopping $96,282.15 (a 96.3% return) with 44 trades. The sheer number of trades demonstrates his ...active trading throughout the 5 months. After asking Michael how he traded so often, he responded that he "trades during his AP Java class" (a coding class at Hamilton) after he finishes his work. Due to his outstanding performance, Michael received the 1st Place Golden Bull Trophy. Runner-up in the competition was Vineet Mahesh (66.6% return), and third place was Andrew Seo (50.3%).
